
EC Climate Communication conscious but too cautious
9 March 2010 - Brussels – Commenting on the first European Commission Climate Communication since the Copenhagen Summit on Climate Change, issued today, CIDSE says it is positive that the Commission is conscious of the need for a new strategy to advance international climate negotiations. CIDSE, Caritas Europa and partners worldwide demand better cooperation with the European Commission
4 March 2010 - The three day CIDSE Caritas Europa North-South forum on development, with over 60 participants from Northern and Southern CSOs, as well as EC officials, culminated in a conference in the European Parliament on Thursday 4 March. The two networks presented reccommendations to the Commission as well as to Civil Society Organisations during the conference, which was hosted by members of the European Parliament Thijs Berman and Anna Záborská, and with a key note address by Koos Richelle, Director General of the EuropeAid Cooperation Office. During this period of fasting and reflection CIDSE members take action to raise both awareness about development issues, as well as the necessary funds to support people in need all over the world.
