“Do Coracão à Terra”, CIDSE sustainable youth camp

After more than two years without any large international youth event, we are happy to announce that a new opportunity is coming up for the young adults of the CIDSE family!

From 27 April to 3 May, the Change for the Planet – Care for the People Initiative, FEC CIDSE’s Portuguese member  and Casa Velha will bring together approximately 30 CIDSE young supporters in Portugal on the occasion of an international youth camp. The event, entitled “Do Coração à Terra” (From Heart to Earth), will be the occasion for participants to reconnect to our common home and act together to protect it.

The inspiring location of Casa Velha (close to Fatima) will offer them an unforgettable opportunity to learn and share with peers from all over the world. One of the camp’s goals is to understand the reality of climate change consequences and be empowered to act personally and collectively through living sustainably by principles that inspired Casa Velha.

To know more about Casa Velha and its founder, you can:

Several CIDSE member organisations will have the opportunity to have their young supporters living this experience; around ten of them [1] are currently involved in the organisation of the camp!

The programme will consist of a mix of practical activities, reflection moments and meetings with guests. Each delegation will be involved in the preparation in order to shape it together. A first draft is available here.

Stay tuned with preparations for the youth camp by following the “Change for the Planet – Care for the People” Initiative Instagram page!
