The coming months will see a whole series of initiatives in Brussels aiming at interacting with MEP candidates, the European political groups and the future European Commission.

Faith-based organisations and networks are already engaging in a dialogue with candidates running for the European Parliament elections in May to communicate their efforts to mobilise voters and inform them of the challenges Europe and the whole humanity are facing.

Christians may have different political colours but they share the same concerns on certain topics; the Encyclical Laudato Si’ provides a frame that brings together the economic, social and environmental challenges that Europe must address. What is our and Europe’s role in finding a balance between urgent actions and defining a long term vision to address the current main political, environmental, social and economic challenges?

CIDSE, together with JESC, Chapel for Europe and COMECE, are pleased to invite you to an evening debate between MEP candidates:
– Andreas Schwab, MEP, EPP
– Klaus Buchner, MEP, Greens

and representatives of Christian organisations:
– Jesuit Refugees Service
– Africa Faith and Justice Network
– Conference of European Ch
– Caritas Europa
– Young Christian Workers
– European Leadership Programme
– Jesuit European Social Centre
– Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the EU
– Chapel for Europe
– CIDSE

The event will take place on Wednesday 10 April 2019, 19:00-21:00 at the Chapel for Europe, Rue Van Maerlant 22/24, 1040 Brussels.
