Talking Integral Ecology and Living Sustainably – CIDSE

Talking Integral Ecology and Living Sustainably

The 16th of October, in Sala Marconi (Vatican News building) in Rome, took place the event Journalist and Expert Panel titled “Talking Integral Ecology and Living Sustainably”. It was also one of the events planned as side events for the Amazon Synod in “The Amazon: Common Home”.

During four hours CIDSE, in collaboration with REPAM Misereor, Focsiv and with the support of the Dicastery of Communication organized two round tables with the participation of seven interesting panelists and with the dialogue with the public assisting and other who followed the event by Facebook Live (streaming). In the middle of the round tables, CIDSE, with Misereor and GCCM made the official launching of the publication “Journalist’s Toolkit on Sustainable Lifestyles. With Inspirations, Writing Tips and Visual Ideas”, which has been produced in five languages by CIDSE in the framework of the campaign “Change for the Planet, Care for the People”, with the collaboration of GCCM and the support of KR Foundation.

The main objective of this event was to raise awareness in society (with a special focus on journalism and communication) about Amazon, Integral Ecology, sustainable lifestyles and how everything is globally connected. In this moment of the History we need a “call to action”, tools and inspirations in order to change the dominant narratives and also the daily praxis of journalism, media and communication as specific actors and influencers in seeking Systemic Change and holistic solutions.
