MISEREOR has interviewed two partners from South Africa, Merwyn Abrahams, director of PACSA, an organisation for human rights and social justice, and Fawzia Naidoo of the organisation Thabiso Skills.
Together with other civil society organisations, CIDSE member organisation MISEREOR greeted the European Parliament decision on the Commission proposal on transparency for large corporations in the oil, gas, mining and forestry sectors. The new rules will force them to reveal their payments, such as taxes and concessions, not only by which government receives the money, but also by project. (Press release in German below)
