After Montreal in 2016, the World Social Forum is back in Brazil where it was first held in 2001. This year, it will take place in Salvador de Bahia from 13 to 17 March under the slogan “To resist is to create, to resist is to transform!” in a difficult national political context. We are looking forward to this space where alternatives to the current economic system are explored fostering our engagement for system change.

Addressing the UN GA this morning, the Pope has stressed that social and economic exclusion is an attack on human rights and our natural environment.
We, world citizens unite in a common call to all governments of the world gathering in New York 25-27 September 2015 for the United Nations Summit to adopt new universal goals for sustainable development, just 70 days before the critical twenty first Conference of Parties of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Paris.
CIDSE, together with its members, launched on 1st July 2015 a campaign on sustainable lifestyles: "Change for the Planet, Care for the People.”
CIDSE joined civil society organisations from all over the world to make plans for a fairer and more democratic world at the 2013 World Social Forum in Tunis, Tunisia (26-30 March).
