The CIDSE Climate Relay Dialogues is a global journey of encounter and discernment convened by CIDSE to carry the spirit of COP30 in Brazil forward on the road to COP31. From November 2025 to December 2026, this relay of dialogues will “bring the COP back home,” transforming distant negotiations into living conversations within communities of faith across continents. Rooted in Catholic Social Teaching and animated by the voices of Indigenous Peoples, frontline communities, youth, and civil society partners, the initiative creates sacred and civic spaces where lived experience, moral reflection, and policy ambition meet.
Each dialogue becomes a passing of the baton — from local testimony to global advocacy, from prayer to action. Through storytelling, theological reflection, and collective discernment, the Climate Relay Dialogues will nurture a shared People’s COP narrative that bridges North and South, amplifies hope amid climate injustice, and strengthens our common commitment to care for our common home with courage, solidarity, and faith.
The Relay finds its roots in the CIDSE Systemic Change Dialogues towards COP30, a process that convened diverse actors across the CIDSE network to reflect on the structural drivers of the ecological and social crisis. Emerging from that foundation of shared analysis and moral discernment, the Climate Relay Dialogues carry forward the call for systemic transformation — translating reflection into sustained global engagement, and ensuring that the path from COP30 to COP31 is shaped by justice, solidarity, and the lived realities of communities most affected by climate change.
