Background:
Every year, a light comes from Bethlehem. Before Christmas, the Scout movement takes a flame from the “Eternal Flame” from the Nativity Grotto in Bethlehem, where Jesus was born. They carry it into the world as a sign of peace. Especially in these years when the longing and hope for a lasting peace in the Holy Land is so urgent. The light brings peace to us and is a sign of our willingness to be channels of peace, through our words and actions.
The welcoming of the light is organised by Les Scouts, the Chapel for Europe, Pax Christi International and CIDSE.
