Season of Creation 2025
“Peace with Creation“
The Season of Creation – an ecumenical initiative – starts on 1st September, the Day of Prayer for Creation, and runs until 4 October, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. It is a liturgical season dedicated to prayer, reflection, and celebration of God as Creator.
Under this year’s official theme, “Peace with Creation“, CIDSE will be involved in the following supporting activities:
- 8 September: launch of a joint Catholic statement ‘Pilgrims of Hope for a Just and Peaceful World‘ at a webinar co-organised with Caritas Internationalis, Pax Christi International and SCIAF.
- 2-3 October: participation in the “Raising Hope Conference” organised for the 10th anniversary of Laudato Si‘ in Castel Gandolfo (Italy).
CIDSE is also supporting the Manifesto “Integral Ecology: a narrative to understanding the planetary socio-environmental crisis” released by the Special Commission for Integral Ecology and Mining (CEEM) of the Brazilian Bishops’ Conference (CNBB) which proposes a deep reflection and a call to action in the face of the global climate crisis.
