Living Laudato Si’: a European view on integral ecology

CIDSE supports the launch of the Living Laudato Si’ survey, the first initiative designed by ELSiA* to gain an understanding of Pope Francis’ encyclical-inspired initiatives implemented across Europe.

After completing the pilot phase in Ireland, the survey was launched in Portugal, France, Scotland, England and Wales, Luxembourg, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Croatia, the Netherlands and Austria in early September. The closing date for participation is 31st October.

The results of the survey are intended to highlight the contributions of the Catholic Church to the Care for Creation. The European Laudato Si’ Alliance plans to share the results at a conference in Rome next year to celebrate its 6th Laudato Si’ Reflection Day . All members of ELSiA support this initiative as well as the Laudato Si’ Action Platform.

A consortium of Catholic universities (St Mary’s University, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Universitat Ramon Llull, Hrvatsko Katoličko Sveučilište and EMD Ecole de Management Marseilles) will collect the data and analyse the results. The consortium is coordinated by Dr Mark Charlesworth.

The survey is currently available in English, Italian, Portuguese, Croatian, French, Dutch and German. If your language is not yet listed, but you are familiar with one of those available and you are based in Europe, we welcome your participation.

All European national Bishops’ Conferences, Archdioceses or Dioceses, religious congregations, Catholic NGOs and networks, Catholic movements, Church organisations, Catholic schools and universities , … are invited to take part in this initiative by filling in the online survey

The slides below can be used as an introductory tool to the online survey.

If you have any questions or need clarification (which are not listed in the survey FAQ), do not hesitate to contact the ELSiA Coordinator.
