ISRAEL & OPT
Together with their partners in the region, CIDSE members working on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict want to achieve a just peace leading to self-determination for both Israelis and Palestinians.
CIDSE believes it is essential to emphasize that justice is rooted in the application of international humanitarian law (IHL), international human rights law (IHRL) and the relevant UN resolutions. The EU – as the largest aid donor to the occupied Palestinian territory and a major trading partner of Israel – has a significant role to play through using its leverage with all parties to ensure respect for international law.
CIDSE aims at promoting political support for a just peace by working to frame public discourse on this issue in terms of IHL and IHRL, and conducting lobbying and advocacy work at EU and national level. Some of our members also work alongside and in exchange with partners in Israel and the occupied territories to sustain development and humanitarian programmes.
