Statement in support of Malian Human Rights Defender, Kone Massa, spokesperson of the Global Convergence of Land and Water Struggles – West Africa.
On 22 June 2020, Kone Massa, spokesperson of the Global Convergence of Land and Water Struggles – West Africa (GCLWS WA)– was targeted in an attack. His home was vandalized and looted in the presence of his children by hooded individuals dressed in military uniforms and carrying firearms.
CIDSE joins the many voices outraged by this shocking attack on Kone Massa and his family and strongly condemns this barbaric act. We express our solidarity with Kone Massa and his family, and with all the activists who are criminalised in the context of their work in defense of human rights.
