CIDSE contribution to the 9th session of the UN binding Treaty

Find out more about CIDSE’s delegation activities at the 9th Session.

The 9th Session of the Open-Ended Intergovernmental Working Group on Transnational Corporations and Other Business Enterprises with Respect to Human Rights is opening today in Geneva.

For one week, from 23-27 October, Member States will resume their negotiations on a Legally Binding Instrument on Business and Human rights on the basis of an Updated Draft.

On this occasion, CIDSE is releasing its contribution, based on a legal analysis written by Prof. Dr. Markus Krajewski, Stephanie Regalia and Otgontuya Davaanyam of the School of Law of Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg in Germany.

The coming session will be a key moment for the process towards shaping a UN Treaty that can bring value to global efforts towards protecting human rights from the effects of business activities and providing access to justice for affected people and communities.
