As part of the Season of Creation which runs from 1st September to 4 October, the European Laudato Si’ Alliance (ELSiA) invites you to dive deeper into the global water challenges at a half-day conference entitled “Water – Too Much, Too Little“.

PROGRAMME

Welcome by a member of the ELSiA leadership

Introduction: The transversal issue of water in Laudato Si’, by Dr. Gerard Kuperus, Director of the Laudato Si’ Institute, University of Nijmegen (Netherlands)

Too much, too little’ examples:

  • Managing an unstable resource, by Mr. Kees-Jan de Vet, Brabantse Delta Water Board (Netherlands)
  • Protecting the natural heritage of the river Allier, by Ms. Estelle Cournez, Director of the Conservatoire d’Espaces Naturels Allier, Châtel-de-Neuvre (France)
  • Facing extreme drought, by Dr P. Quintana Seguí, Director of the Observatori de l’Ebre, Tarragona (Spain)

What can, what should the European Union do? by representatives from the European institutions (tba)
