Background
The webinar will address – from Argentina’s experience – the situation of lithium extractivism, which acts in the same taxing and violent ways, and with the same objective of enriching certain groups, where climate justice is not on the agenda. The Argentine organisation, Bienaventurados los Pobres and CIDSE, have been researching and reflecting on the energy transition, the impacts of lithium extraction and the chains generated from this extractive activity.

This event is part of the Virtual Caravan: “Hopes and territorial struggles against mining dispossession”, an initiative of the Churches and Mining Network with the Divestment in Mining Campaign and the Eco-spirituality Community; the virtual caravan, advances through the territories, listening to the struggles, resistances and denunciations. The Caravan already traveled through the territories of Guatemala, Chile, Brazil, Colombia and is returning to Argentina.
