Praying for peace in Ukraine

Catholic organisations united in solidarity with the people of Ukraine 

CIDSE, its member organisations and Catholic sister organisations strongly condemn the use of violence and urge all parties involved to work towards a diplomatic solution, the only way to bring peace back to the region. We join people around the world praying for peace in Ukraine and support Pope Francis’ appeal for a day of prayer and fasting for peace on Ash Wednesday on 2 March 2022:

“I encourage believers in a special way to devote themselves intensely to prayer and fasting on that day. May the Queen of Peace protect the world from the folly of war.”
