    The Catholic development agency in the Netherlands, Cordaid, celebrates its 100 years of history with a lunch in praise of the “silent helpers”, those who selflessly give aid to others.

    The Catholic development agency in the Netherlands, Cordaid, celebrates its 100 years of history with a lunch in praise of the “silent helpers”, those who selflessly give aid to others. One of the organisations that merged to form Cordaid, the “Rooms Katholiek Huisvestingscomitee” or Catholic Housing Committee, founded to help refugees of the First World War, a century ago.

    The event will be attended by Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, who also is the UN Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development. CIDSE Secretary General Bernd Nilles will also join the celebration.

    Queen Maxima plays an important in the field of international development, including in her role as UN Special Advocate. CIDSE also working on financing for development, including on how the future developments goals are financed and calls, together with European Church leaders, for a stable, broad-based implementation of a Financial Transaction Tax (FTT).
