At the occasion of the United Nations COP19 climate negotiations that took place in November 2013 in Warsaw, Poland, actively engaged in advocacy work with the international community and also engaged with Polish civil society actors, Catholic development agencies, academic and international civil society representatives.
One of the highlights of the work done by CIDSE in Warsaw was an international conference titled “faith actors working together for climate justice”, co-organised with Caritas Poland and the Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University. Today we are happy to give some highlights of that conference via our collaboration withTygodnik Powszechny in a series of articles (gathered here) running over three weeks on the question of climate change viewed through a faith-based and global justice lens.
The Conference event was not the only event CIDSE organised in Warsaw. We already started working with Tygodnik Powszechny in November with a discussion meeting including Constance Achom Okollet from Uganda, Bishop Theotonius Gomes of Bangladesh for the CIDSE delegation and Father Stanisław Jaromi. More about our engagement in the struggle to create a climate for justice can be found here.
