Terre Solidaire photo awards exhibition in Brussels
Geopolis, Brussels’ centre for photojournalism offers the Brussels public the opportunity to discover two winners of the Terre Solidaire Photo competition:
“Les oubliés de la rivière Kosi” by Anush Babajanyan
In the northern Indian state of Bihar, photographer Anush Babajanyan travelled along the banks of the Kosi River, famous for its unpredictability and the variability of its flow. She went to meet the river people who live there, at the mercy of the floods and forgotten by everyone.
“Les larmes du Fleuve Tigre” by Emily Garthwaite
The Tigris river, the lifeblood of an entire region, is disappearing. Between dams upstream, pollution downstream and climate change, the river is drying up and deteriorating rapidly. Photojournalist Emily Garthwaite, documents the uncertain future of the river in Iraq and the people who depend on it.
Background
With the support of Sebastião Salgado, President of Honour, CCFD-Terre Solidaire, CIDSE’s French member organisation, launched the first edition of the Terre Solidaire Photo Award dedicated to humanist and environmental photography in 2022
