Entraide et Fraternité, together with the Research Institute Religions, Spiritualités, Cultures, Sociétés (RSCS) of the Catholic University of Louvain is organising an international conference, with a focus on modern challenges facing Christian engagement for global justice, 13 to 15 March 2014.
This conference is an important opportunity to contribute to the construction of a social and international theological knowledge. It will analyse the different challenges facing Christian engagement in global development in a context of secularisation, important changes in the religious phenomenon and economic globalisation. It will aim to promote practical approaches linked with academic research.
What happens to the social justice at international level? What does the future hold for the ethics of solidarity in a changing world ?
This conference will mark the start of the 2014 Lenten Campaign and the winding up of a six-year programme during which the Belgian NGO Entraide et Fraternité has promoted small scale agriculture in nine Southern countries. Food and food sovereignty rights lie at the heart of Entraide et Fraternité’s engagement.
